IDEAMA (Internationales Digitales Elektro Akustisches Musik Archiv)

In the year 2000 the HMT Zurich acquired the IDEAMA collection. The international digital music archive IDEAMA was initiated in 1988 by Max Matthews, Johannes Goebel und Patte Wood and realized by the two institutions ZKM (Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie Karlsruhe) and CCRMA (Stanford University-Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics). Their aim was to preserve some of the most important early works of electroacoustic music and to transfer them to a digital medium. The collection includes over 950 works from 1930 to 1970.

IMEB collection

During the 41 years of its existence, the IMEB (Institute de Musique Électroacoustique de Bourges) has formed an extensive archive, which contains (along with illustrations and text material) sound recordings of more than 12000 electro-acoustic compositions. Since 2005 selected parts of this collection have been archived by the BNF (Bibliothèque Nationale de France). From 2007 onwards, the ICST has participated in this project and been responsible for a substantial part of the digitizing and cataloguing process, as well as the database design. The accumulated inventories are made accessible to the public at the BNF in Paris and the ICST in Zurich.
